From 1930 to the 1960s

1930

Subramaniam Mahadevan and Sinnathamby Rajandram, employees of Dodge & Seymour, an American trading house.

1939

The two friends used their life savings to acquire the shares of the Company when the owners left the Island as a result of the World War.

1951

The setting up of the Parker Ink Factory.

1957

‘S-lon’ had its origins in Japan by a company named Shikushi which was rejuvenated by TCMOL

1958

In-house production of PVC pipes and fittings commenced

From 1960s & 1970s

1965

The torch was passed down to the younger generation after the passing of Mr. Rajandram.

1967

The Maharaja Organization Limited was formed

1977

Prima Flour Mills: The first TCMOL foreign investment project

In The 1980s & 1990s

1981

The establishment of the ICL factory

1983

The resurrection and expansion begins after the large scale civil unrest left not only the group but the country in ashes.

1985

Importing and distributing Anchor Milk in Sri Lanka.

1987

S Lon ventured into independent operations

1990

Tuffline LTD (a flexible-barrier packaging company) was founded.

1991

Setting up of MTV Channel (Pvt) Ltd and MBC Networks (Pvt) Ltd
A joint venture Project with Singapore Telecom International.

1993

Incorporation of Dialog.
A joint venture Project with between MTN Networks and Telekon Malaysia Berhad.

1998

Gained sole control over MTV and MBC.
Introducing Sirasa for Sinhala TV and Shakthi for Tamil TV.

2006 & Beyond

2006

The Capital Maharaja Organization Limited was born with Capital Holdings Limited being the holding company.

Present

TCMOL has stepped in to a few new industries such as:
– The Digital industry with the launching of an E – Commerce website called Sambole.lk which is a local classifieds website, a service app known as Bell Boy and an entertainment app known as KIKI.
– The Hospitality industry with the Fox Resorts hotel chain.
