Harrisons Chemical is a leading formulator marketer and distributor of quality agro and industrial chemicals in Sri Lanka. The Company has been in the business for over 50 years and is, today, rated as one of the three best agro chemical marketing companies in Sri Lanka.
 In the agricultural sector, the Company has the largest direct coverage of outlets in agro chemical distribution. This has been achieved through its highly trained and motivated sales team, all of whom have higher educational qualifications in agriculture. Apart from a distribution and sales network that covers virtually the whole Island, Harrisons Chemical also has a separate business unit operating to fulfil the agro chemical requirements of tea and rubber plantations.
In the industrial sector, a business development executive coordinates the supply of chemicals to industries such as PVC, leather, paint, packaging and printing material as well as the beverage industry.
Moreover, Harrisons Chemical has a team specialized in sales promotion and education. Communication executives attached to this unit conduct field trials, demonstrations and farmer training classes to evaluate product performance of existing and new chemicals as well as to train farmers in the safe and proper use of agro chemicals.
 The Company's factory at Ekala is semi-automated and handles packing, re-packing and formulation of agro chemicals. Set up in 1999, it undertakes the formulation and manufacture of chemicals to high standards of environmental protection.

History
In 1844 two English men, Smith Harrison and Joseph Crosfield established a company under the name of Harrisons and Crosfield to trade tea and coffee. Harrisons and Crosfield ventured into the Sri Lanka plantation sector by purchasing Hopton estate in Passara. In 1947, the Company diversified into the chemical business by joining hands with Durham Chemicals. The Maharaja Organisation Ltd, one of the largest private corporate houses of Sri Lanka, took over this company and renamed it Harrisons Chemical (Pvt) Ltd in 1989. Since then, Harrisons Chemical has shown remarkable growth and emerged as one of the three major players in the agro chemical sector in Sri Lanka.
